Question about Carbon Fiber Laminates(mythical?)

Question about Carbon Fiber Laminates(mythical?)

Question about Carbon Fiber Laminates(mythical?)

(OP)
I was wondering where I could find information on Carbon Fiber laminates. I do not even know if they exist, but it would seem to me that one could lay layers of c.f. and resin in a stack, and then use a hydrolic press and a vaccume to solidify the layers together. Much like plywood.
Any info would be helpful.

RE: Question about Carbon Fiber Laminates(mythical?)

This is done.  One such company that makes carbon fiber laminates web page www.AmericanMatrixCorp.com .

RE: Question about Carbon Fiber Laminates(mythical?)

Carbon Fiber laminates does exist of course, i have used it several times. the preimpragnated ones are called "prepregs".
The procedure you proposed seems like RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding), although, it doesn't use conventional hydraulic press.
