Qualification for Hardfacing NICU with a Inconel underlay

Qualification for Hardfacing NICU with a Inconel underlay

Qualification for Hardfacing NICU with a Inconel underlay

(OP)
Ok to start off,

Who knows Tech Spec NAVSEA S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 titled Requirements for welding and brazing procedure and performance qualification.

Second, I need to qualify a Hardfacing of Group S-42 Nickel-copper with a Inconel underlay.
The part to be welded is essentially pipe shaped and internally will be roughed out for a inconel layer then with stellite (hardfacing) for the final layer.

I'm confused at to which figure qualification I need to have qualified or should I have 2 different procedures for the different types of welds, I see it as a hardfacing application to be performed in accordance with Figure 6 of page 107.

Would the inconel underlay be considered as cladding, prior to the stellite application. If thats the case then it would be a different figure for testing requirements.

I'm stuck!!
Please help, if needed I could scan the portion detail of drawing.
