Diametral Interference

What is the meaning of diametral interference between two round components?

RE: Diametral Interference

I can think of three:
By design... press fit.
By stack analysis... lack of fit or clearance due to tolerance or tolerance accumulation.
By measurement... either a bad design or bad product.

RE: Diametral Interference

weisusu,

It means that the shaft is bigger than the hole, as per one of PaulJackson's suggestions, above.

Hello Paul: It is by design (press fit). Given this application, can you please elaborate further what diametral interference between two round components mean? Thanks

RE: Diametral Interference

weisusu,
It means that the shaft is bigger than the hole, as per  drawoh's response above.
