Add Properties to Material Table

Add Properties to Material Table

Add Properties to Material Table

(OP)
Is it possible to add properties to a material table.
I'm not referring to adding another material, or editing existing values like density.
What I want is to add a new property such as "Notes" which could have some other usefull material data.

RE: Add Properties to Material Table

BC,

AFAIK that's not possible -- they never had thought of that. Each
property has an ID and these are fixed and you can't put in
a new one sad

RE: Add Properties to Material Table

dy is correct.  It is not possible.  The best you can do is to put in an enhancement request for the specific field(s) you want added.

The workaround is to add that as a custom property to the part file.  Of course, it is part specific and not material specific.

the name and type should by *any* like we've with custom
properties. The needs for any additional properties that
should go along with a specific material may differ from
company to company.

Thanks guys, we hadn't been able to see anywhere to add fields but it's always worth asking.
With so much confusion these days over material standards (particularly BS & EN steel grades) we thought it would be beneficial to add some notes on typical use, bend rads etc.
