ETAP help needed

ETAP help needed

Hi guys,

I work for a company that builds small power stations. I modelled one of these powerstations on ETAP and am now trying to run a Transient Stability study on it.

To run a transient stability study on ETAP, you enter the transient stability editor, and create an "Event" and give it a name. Now within that Event, you create "Actions". An action, for example, can be a fault on a bus within your system.

So basically you create an event, and then go to create actions.

However, my ETAP crashes each time I click on the "add" button to add an action. It just pops up a dialog box saying an error has occured, and do you want to send the error message to microsoft, I click on "don't send" and then the whole program disappears and I have to re-start it, but the same thing happens everytime.

So this means I can't do any transient stability study! I have a deadline coming up soon so I really need some help guys!

The ETAP version is 6.0 if that means anything... Has anyone had this happen to them or know of what to do about it?

RE: ETAP help needed

I would contact OTI (Operatopm Technologi Inc, the maker of ETAP), and their technical support.  www.etap.com

It's ok now, I've figured out the problem. Essentially I went into the backend of the software instead of using the icons on the SLD main page.

Problem solved, thanks anyways!
