ANSYS Workbench Startup Problem

ANSYS Workbench Startup Problem

ANSYS Workbench Startup Problem

(OP)

I am trying to run Ansys 11.  ANSYS Classic works fine, but when I try running ANSYS Workbench the program loads up and all that appears if a blank grey screen that has a tab that says Startpage at the top.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be with Workbench?  I have been running it on my computer for a while now and am just recently having these problems.  I have tried un-installing and re-installing a few times and still the same problems.

Thanks for the help.

RE: ANSYS Workbench Startup Problem

Hi,
if the page is getting loaded and you see the tool bar in the top,try
view<windows<reset layout.

RE: ANSYS Workbench Startup Problem

Hi,
what I'm about to write is very likely, however it may not correspond to your problem.

Ansys Classical and Workbench are, from the License Manager point of view, two completely different "Features".
It is likely that you have valid license for both, but the DATE of the Workbench Feature has expired. That means that you are allowed to run any version of Workbench whose internal date (version or service-pack date) is "LOWER" than the expiration value. If by chance you installed a version with successive date, it will not run.
The solution is to check with your reseller that you have the most up-to-date license (renewals should be sent to you automatically, but sometimes this mechanism fails... winky smile ).

Regards
