How much energy is required to turn braze alloy AWS Bag-22 from a solid to a liquid.  (Maybe energy of enthalpy measured as energy / weight). I know the solidus and liquidus.  I am trying to calculate an oven cycle.  I realize that a mathematical model isn't great in the real world but I would like to start there.   

We are brazing carbide buttons into a big piece of steel for a mining application.   We put cut bits of braze alloy (braze filler metal) into the bottom of the hole with Black Flux.   We then ran the oven up to the liquidus point, held it there for 5 minutes and then let the oven cool.  

The assembly was tested to destruction.  The braze joints held well but there was a bit of braze alloy at the bottom of the socket that hadn't fully melted.  

The supposition is that either 5 minutes wasn't enough time for the heat to soak all the way into the steel or that we didn't allow for the energy required for the phase change from a solid to a liquid.
