Reorient / Replace a Drafting View

Reorient / Replace a Drafting View

Reorient / Replace a Drafting View

(OP)
NX 5.0.5, we have a drawing where we want to reorient one or more existing views.  New views have been created and saved in Modeling, but how do you edit a view in drafting to replace the existing view with a different canned view or saved custom view?  All I know is the Orient view Tool which is cumbersome to use, especially when you want to orient the view to a specific ISO view of the part.  Sure I can just delete the view and replace it but then all the annotations have to be recreated.

RE: Reorient / Replace a Drafting View

Apart from changing the view orientation in the plane that it was originally created with I don't know of any other options that could help you to do that.

A trick though might be to add your new view over the top of or adjacent to the original and then edit the dimension associativity to objects in the newer view. Sometime editing the view boundary of the original to a small manual square is enough to give you some apparent clear space on the page to work into. Remember of course to delete your old view when you're done.

Cheers
