A few of the recent ones listed graphically...from Structure Magazine.

RE: Worlds Tallest Buildings

It will be tallest until the Burj opens next year. I think it is a Les Robertson design.

RE: Worlds Tallest Buildings

There is another tall new one coming in Dubai -

It bee taller than the Burj. Since they build 24x7, it should move fast once they start.

From what I hear, it will be near the world's first inland sea harbor that they will have to drege and get acesss to.

That area shows what real engineering can do if there is the money and other businesses to use and fill the structures.

DCS -

You may be right today. For the past 10 years the internet has been very accurate leaving scoffers behind if you look at before, after and the results.

Now, the area is becoming based more on general commerce/business and not just petroleum, so it could be compromised depending on the politicians. - At least the U.S. Congress will have little effect. You could even see the Indian and Chinese money coming into play, even though they have little presence outside of a very, very small percentage of their population working there. - It is a good way of draining off the money coming back. They also can make much of the equipment used.
