Graphics Card
Graphics Card
(OP)
On the SW site under the graphic card page, when seeing what cards are approved by SW, for each card listed there is a "NOTE" section on the far left. One of the notes has a SW logo with the description "Use the graphics card display settings for Solidworks". Can anyone explain what this means.
I'm looking at the Nvidia FX 1700 card and although that note applies to that card for versions 2007 and 2008 it is missing for use with SW2009.
Thanks
John

The fx1700 is certified for SW09 but by not showing that icon against it means that the fx1700 does not have (or need) specific application settings for SW09. I don't know why though.

Unfortunately it did nothing but freeze my graphics, especially in the assy I have been working on. When I rolled back to the earlier version, SW WORKED FINE.
BTW, does SW have recommendation about the amount of video ram?

Take particular note that the Show only programs found on this computer is NOT selected.
Also note the Base Profile should be used.

If so you should be able to browse to and select the SolidWorks.exe file, and adjust the settings to whatever is allowed.
