surface texture on a shaft

surface texture on a shaft

surface texture on a shaft

hi!

how can surface texture on a shaft be important?
lets say for a rotating shaft connected to a bearing. How can different surface finish on the shaft affect the shaft/bearing assembly? And in practical/real situations where can that be seen?

many thanks

RE: surface texture on a shaft

Depending on the type of bearing, materials, speed and lubricant the answer will vary. More detail is important.
