Pulverized Coal Sampler

Pulverized Coal Sampler

Pulverized Coal Sampler

(OP)
Hi,
I'm looking to compare different types of pulverized coal samplers.  If anyone knows of any manufacturers please let me know.

(I want to spec out something that would suit the coal pipe velocities at our plant (up to 35m/s) as well as the high moisture content of our coal (could be up to 35%).  We currently have a MW unit for sampling, which seems to be suited for lower coal pipe velocites, and the cyclone system is plugging up, possibly due to the high moisture content of our coal.)

Anyone burning lignite coal - what do you use for coal pipe balancing / pf sampling at your plant?

RE: Pulverized Coal Sampler

There are/were very specific standards and methods for the sampling of coal depending on your location. Based on your requirements I would get a copy of the required standards and go from there. All should state how and how much.

Here are two websites that should give you a good starting point. A coal testing lab is very expensive to set up. Unless you need in it house or only a partial analysis you best bet is to use a lab like Birtley.

The first is Birtley Labs and the second is a supplier of testing equipment.
