High Speed Machining Parameters

Hello,
I am interested in finding speeds and feeds for High Speed Milling with Solid Carbide Endmills in such materials as 300 Series Stainless Steels, High-temp Alloys and Titanium

Any help or lead will be appreciated!

yea, but to no avail......

Your endmill manufacturer's website is the best place to start, they will have charts, tables or calculators for this info (most do). If they dont then search for HSM tooling and find a specialist cutter manufacturer.

Take a look at Helical end mills.  www.1helical.com

We're running 500 sfm in 6-4 Ti.  The key to HSM Ti is very small stepovers.  You want the cutter out of the cut much more than in the cut.  Say 10-15% radial stepover.  Since you are taking such small stepovers, the only way to make up for the extra passes needed is to add flutes.  We're using a .500 10 flute endmill at 500 sfm and .0035 per tooth.  .125 depth of cut, and 10% stepover.  Anyways, the tools they make are great, and I can vouch for the multi-flute cutters.

Wow, I found my answer and company I will give my business too!

Called Helical, they gave me speeds and feeds right away. I bought endmills from them and they are working better than I have ever seen! Running 1/2" tool in 304 SS at 48 IPM @ 635 sfm (.100 rdoc/.75 adoc) with trochoidal milling strategy......oh yea, forgot to tell you that I am running them dry with air blast only!

I would suggest to call these guys if you really want some good technical help and tools that can handle the pressure!
