Moving load in STAAD.Pro

Moving load in STAAD.Pro

(OP)
Hi,

I am trying to perform a moving load analysis in STAAD.Pro on a steel structure.
Due to the geometri of the structre it is impossible to place moving loads directy on the girders.

In order to over come this problem I defined "DUMMY" beams with very small E. This way I could transfer loads to girders through cross beams.
Please see "3D.std".

It seems that this approach works fine, but the problem is that moving loads can also be located any where in the Z- direction.
Do you know how I can place in Z- direction?
Said in other way where is the most critical position of the load in the Z- direction?

I tried to make a 2D model to move the moving loads in the Z- direction with 4 loads each 0.5 kN, but the reation force will be greater than 1 which is not correct.
Please see "2D.std".

Would you please help me overcome this problem?

Regards
Bill
