Cold Formed Steel Zee girts

(OP)
We have been asked to check shop drawings for a Contractor providing siding and cold formed steel girts for Transfer Towers.  Does anyone know of any design examples for zee girts (laid horizontal to support siding)?

RE: Cold Formed Steel Zee girts

The AISI Cold-Form Steel Design Manual would be a good place to start.  There are a few textbooks on cold-form design available also.

RE: Cold Formed Steel Zee girts

Most of the light gage suppliers have made design tables for their products. try o find one with the size shown on shop drawing. If you can find it than it is just comparing.

And if you're using them in anything but the most "normal" of ways, be very careful about the shear!  They are, after all, essentially just sheet metal that's been folded into a special shape.

Cheers,
