Modification of Pressure Fittings?

Modification of Pressure Fittings?

Modification of Pressure Fittings?

(OP)
Hi,
We plan to modify some standard pipe fittings by drilling holes through the wall of the fitting.  One example is to drill and tap a 1/8"FNPT hole through the wall of a 1.5" to 1" reducer fitting.
What would be a good code for testing these modified fittings?  I have looked through ASME B31.3 and found no section on modified fittings and testing criteria.
Thanks

RE: Modification of Pressure Fittings?

Review ASME B31.3, Section 304.6.1 and especially 304.7.2.
