Monel weld overlay valve trim

Monel weld overlay valve trim

(OP)
Hello,
API 600 CN 9 (Trim 9) just states NiCu alloy.  Does this mean Monel 400 or does this mean any combination of nickel and copper?  I did not see reference to Monel anywhere in API 600 (the older copies of API 600 used to say Monel).

Also, I received a corrosion resistant weld overlay weld procedure for applying Monel to a valve seating surface.  There is only one layer of Monel so obviously there is a lot of iron dilution into the overlay.  For seating surfaces, is it normal to only use single layer overlays?  If so, is 25% Fe content acceptable for CN 9?

I appreciate any insight you may have on this!
