How can I Print a Sketch

How can I Print a Sketch

How can I Print a Sketch

(OP)
I have a layout Sketch with a mix of geometry, and a ton of dimensions and Driven Dimensions I use for a master ref for many models. I can't seem to find an easy way to print this sketch to fit an E size drawing. There is no model, just this sketch

thanks for your help
Tom

Yes, my template is E size. For starters, I just whant to get all of the geometry and dimensions from the sketch to just show up on the drawing, I can't seem to do that

Open the sketch, highlight all the geometry and dimensions, Edit->Copy, open the drawing, Edit->Paste.  The drawing won't be driven by the master sketch but at least this will let you get it on paper.

Thanks Hendersdc
Your right, got it on paper...not pretty but I got it.
Thanks so much, simple copy paste, never would have thought to try this.

A star for you

RE: How can I Print a Sketch

I don't understand why you can't just insert the part or assembly sketch into a drawing. You don't need a solid body to show the sketch, it will show up. If you have the dimensions in the sketched checked as marked for drawing, and then under drawing view dialog in the property manager, import options, select import annotations. This way the E size drawing with the sketch will be linked back to the layout sketch if you change it and need to print it again.

Do you have the View > Sketches option selected?

cheers

RE: How can I Print a Sketch

I agree with rfus.
I would use the model. I would never draw sketches unless something just can't be done in the model or a minor note/etc needs added.

rfus, you are right, although I had problems with this earlier I couldn't get the dimensions to show up. Now when I try it it works. Go figure
Thanks man
