Load Tap Changer voltage control setting

Load Tap Changer voltage control setting

(OP)
Hi there,

A typical mining load is supplied by 66kv feeder via a 66/22kV Tx with LTC. Frequent step load change of 6MW has been recorded which resulted in excessive tap changing.

To reduce potential tear and wear of the LTC, we consider changing bandwidth of the voltage control from existing +/-1% to +/-2.5%.

I wonder if this change will have any adverse impact on the Tx operation and performance.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

RE: Load Tap Changer voltage control setting

Hi EEOz.
It's OK. Nothing do to Tx performance.
You are set bandwith according to your object.
For interesr, how match % of voltage  is one step of TC?
Best Regards.
Slava
