Standard Parts ST

(OP)
I am heading up a project to get all our purchase item component models into the library. We will be doing this on an ST box offline.  I plan to copy all the files and start sticking them into the standard parts library, as well as update all missing props and inserting some new ones.  Once this library is completed locally on that box, I need to make a smooth transition to the server and go live. I want to keep all the same file namse and folder structure and swap it with the originals.  Can anyone shed some light on possible pit falls of doing it this way, or helpful hints.  I have about 2000 files to update properties for.  And when swaping do I just throw my new files on the server along with the database file, and point my box to that file.  I know just enough to be dangerous. HELP!
