add and mate a component to an assembly NX-3

(OP)
New engineer, getting my feet wet on NX. Most work has been notes, bubbles etc, I need to add a terminal block and fuse to a din rail in a panel. I don't know how to mate the component in the proper location. Thanks for the help!

RE: add and mate a component to an assembly NX-3

In an assy -> right click the screw of whatever component to be mated, then click 'mate' in the popup menu.

If 'mate' isn't in the popup menu, you'll need to change a setting in -> File > Customer defaults > Assemblies

RE: add and mate a component to an assembly NX-3

Mating conditions can be confusing at first.  If you have CAST installed, go through the assemblies lesson.  If you don't have CAST, go through the help docs.  Not as good as CAST but they will explain the different mating conditions.
