Hello !
I work more frequently with mechanical structures and equipments and I am studing about flexibility analyse for pipings.
I have some basic doubts about procedures presents in Asme codes, for ex.:
To Asme B31.1 the sustained loads should receive the factor 0.75*i(SIF) comparing the results with SH. In a second step the stresses from thermal displacements, to apply 1.0*i(SIF) in specific components and compared the results with SA.
To Asme B31.3 I did not notice the requirement to apply SIF on sustaineds loads, only to thermal stress !?
Is correct this interpretation, including the subject to compare separately the sustaineds and thermal stresses with your respective allowable stress ?
I notice in some softwares like Triflex where these stresses are combineds including to B31.1 and B31.3 ?
I would be grateful to receive comments about these points.
