RE: UG-NX4 on windows vista?

As far as I know.  Nx4 will not work with vista.  Nx5 does run on vista and I have tested that personally.  I tried to install Nx4 on vista and there were issues with the license server that I could not resolve.  Hope this helps.

RE: UG-NX4 on windows vista?

One of the biggest issues with Vista was the support of (or near lack of) OpenGL, the most widely used, at least among people like CAD vendors (but NOT game developers), graphic languages.  We had to implement a modified OpenGL interface for use with Vista and this was not available until NX 5.0.2.x.

The reality was that on the absolute lowest end graphic cards, NX 4 could run on Vista without users noticing much difference.  Unfortunately, as people tried to run it on your more typical configurations used by people doing REAL work with CAD systems (BTW, we weren't the only software vendor to be caught up in this situation) the performance was shown to be unacceptable and so we had to go back and make accommodations for the 'new' level of OpenGL support.
