Extrude part to another part????

Extrude part to another part????

Extrude part to another part????

(OP)
Hi, this is driving me nuts!

I have two parts in an assembly, one is a basically a plate curved in two dimensions, the other is a simple cylindrical pipe. I want to extrude the pipe section up to the curved plate, so that one end of the pipe terminates on the plate and thus has a curvey end.

When I try creating the extrude feature in the pipe part, it won't let me select any faces of the curved plate part for termination of the extrusion.

In my work I really need to be able to use parts for terminating extrusions in other parts, but I can't figure out how!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You must first select the Copy Object tool to copy the surface of one part into the pipe part.  Then Extrude - To the work surface.
