Explosion proof designation in use of US

Explosion proof designation in use of US

Explosion proof designation in use of US

(OP)
The explosion proof equipment is normally designated as protection type such as EXe Exd or so on. How do I know protection type from designation from US vendor. The only thing I obtain from vendor site is to give the kind of Class and Div. The designation does not identify protection type in US ? How can compare protection type(stipulated in IEC) with US designation ?

In USA NEC and in Canada CSA defines explosion proof as Class I, Division 1 and 2 Groups A, B, C, D, E, F and G. Factory Mutual has a nice table listing also the international partners.
