Variable Speed Pump
Variable Speed Pump
(OP)
All:
I am new to this forum. Currently I am working on LPG project. I am working on the control scheme of the pumps. Both are centrifugal pumps and variable speed drives.
The speed control of one pump is based on the level control of the drum and for other one it is based on suction pressure control.
I'd like to know the different scenarios as what would happen to the speed of the pump in case of high and low liquid level and same for the other pump speed in case of high and low suction pressure. Also both have minimum flow protection based on flow controller on the discharge line. My experience has been primarily on fixed speed drive pumps.
Any comments would be appreciated

RE: Variable Speed Pump
Pump speed is set to max rpm at high level, transitioning to minimum flow rpm at tank low level.
Suction Press:
Pump speed is set to max rpm at high suction pressure, transitioning to minimum flow rpm at low suction pressure.
