API 5L Gr. B

(OP)
I am having issues finding information and thought perhaps someone here could help. I am working closely with two other companies right now on a large job. My pipe manufacturer pushed delivery on the 56" and 52" pipe (API 5L Gr. B) past exceptable delivery. The manufacturer did offer ASTM A139 Gr. B as an alternative. The line will be water pipe so this substitution should be suitable, however my client views this as a downgrade.

I have looked elsewhere and cannot find a domestic manufacturer that offers API 5L Gr. B in sizes larger than 48". I am trying to get the client to accept the alternative so that we can stay on schedule and could use any help with this issue that might strengthen my case for the switch.

Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this topic.

RE: API 5L Gr. B

For pipe diameter >48" look at www.sif-group.com. Maybe they can be of some assistance.
