RE: HELIX FOLLOWING PATH

When asking a question about being able to do something, PLEASE tell us what version of NX are you running so that if we need to provide an example file that we know what version to build it in.

sorry. you are right.
nx 6.0.0.24

RE: HELIX FOLLOWING PATH

There is no direct way, but if you look at the example part attached to this note, you will see how you can use the Swept feature tool to create a model which can be used as if it were a 'free-form' helix.

Thank's John.

RE: HELIX FOLLOWING PATH

John

I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find composite curve within NX6  but as yet I can't, even the commander finder blanked me. Please can you point me in right direction.

Best regards

Simon (NX4.0.4.2 MP4 - TCEng 9.1.3.6.c)

insert --> associative copy --> composite curve

RE: HELIX FOLLOWING PATH

Composite Curve is the replacement for the old Extract Curve/Edge.  There is still a legacy 'Extract' but it's non-associative, while the new Composite Curve is associative (creates a feature).

Note that I just checked both NX 5.0.6.2 and NX 6.0.1.5, and the Command Finder had no problem finding 'Composite Curve'.
