Hello, I have tried unsuccessfully to find a U.S. steel equivelant to EN 10083-1  C22E  (En 3B).

Can you help?

RE: U.S. Steel Equivalent to EN

What are trying to make?

Are you unable to find a supplier that will deliver product to the USA that will meet EN 10083-1?

If you need to change standards, there are SAE and ASTM ones that could be selected to help.  Some of these are product specific, so more information (like sheet, bar, wire, etc.) is needed.

Regards,

Cory

Hello CoryPad, it is round bar stock and it is for a fastener.  I am looking for the steel from a US service center.

RE: U.S. Steel Equivalent to EN

If you are limited to service centers, then the best you are likely to do is to get a bar that will meet the chemical composition requirements of grade SAE 1018 according to SAE J403 Chemical Compositions of SAE Carbon Steels.

A real fastener material would be IFI-1022/A according to ASTM F 2282 Standard Specification for Quality Assurance Requirements for Carbon and Alloy Steel Wire, Rods, and Bars for Mechanical Fasteners.

Cory
