I m testing Nx6 and it the best nx5 version so far.
New are the synchronous tools. does anybody know how to use the section tool is there a way to set up the automatic constraints are created?
thx in ad

RE: Synchronous / NX6

The 'Section Tool', contrary to what it might look like, is not a means to create an actual 'sketch' of a body with a constant profile.  Rather it creates only a temporary 'sketch' which you can manipulate while in the 'sketch' task and the model will update, but once you leave this task, the 'sketch' will be deleted, but any change made to the model as a result of modifications made to the profile while in the 'sketch' task will of course be retained.

Now while you're in the 'sketch' task, you still have all the normal sketcher tools that you would have normally, including the 'Auto Constrain' tool which you could use to create constraints for the albeit temporary 'sketch'.

thank you John,
I the synchronous avi's show editing in assy context, is it on assembly level or in work (active) part level? Can I use references from assy level?

RE: Synchronous / NX6

It's in the Work Part.

While in the 'sketch' task you have all of the capabilities and behavior that you have today when creating/editing a sketch.  Just that when you leave the task, nothing is saved since that would have been part of the 'history' and this particular operation, the 'Section Tool', is ONLY available when working in the 'History-Free' mode.
