Sharing emergency generator

(OP)
We have a physician office with has en emergency generator sering only fire pump, the owner wants to have other load from other building to be also fed out of this generator (if generator size can handle). Will this violate any code issues? Since the generator will serves two different buidlding even same owner? Thanks!

RE: Sharing emergency generator

Should not be a problem as long as a separate generator output breaker and separate transfer switch are used.  And of course the generator must be able to handle the running and staring load of the fire pump with the other load running without exceeding 15% voltage dip.

That "requirement" can be avoided if the additional load is automatically dropped should the fire pump need to run.  Obviously it can't be life safety loads to be dropped but optional standby loads could be dropped.
