How to define a concrete T-section ?

How to define a concrete T-section ?

(OP)
Hello,

I have a problem to define a concrete T-section(just two rectangular shape built together). I used the section model from the standard precast I section and modified the dimension to get the size what I want, but it seems to be that I have to put a number on "D6". It cann't be zero. Any one has a thought to define a concrete T section?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
choose the T-shape from steel section, and then pick concrete material instead of steel from drop down box when modifying the properties.

Thanks, Lisica!

RE: How to define a concrete T-section ?

Yes but in the concrete reinforcement you can only choose the beam design type. What if you want to use the section as a concrete column (P-M2-M3 Design)?

RE: How to define a concrete T-section ?

Hello
Why do you need T-section as concrete column?
I think sap2000 can't design concrete column defined as T-section. Check what types concrete design supports.

RE: How to define a concrete T-section ?

I agree with lisica...Thats exactly what i am saying in my previous post...You can only design these sections as beams...Not as columns...

RE: How to define a concrete T-section ?

Use SD module(Define/frame sections/Add new../Other/Section DEsigner)  to define arbitrary shape sections.
