LA California wind load

LA California wind load

LA California wind load

on CBC wind map it is showing that LA is in special wind region.  Can someone tell me what the wind load is?  I searched their website and cant find anything.  I was on hold forever and had to hang up because I had to go somewhere.  Anyone?

Never, but never question engineer's judgement

RE: LA California wind load

You should contact the city you are doing work in they will tell you the wind speed they use.

RE: LA California wind load

At of curiosity I did a search on a website just referred by a previous thread which gives windspeed and LA did come up in special wind speed.

California building code.  I did call but did not take me anywhere.

Never, but never question engineer's judgement

RE: LA California wind load

Question for CO Engineer. Can you tell me why or who came up with this phrase Never, but never question the engineer?  I work with engineers and most appreciate good questions concerning judgement and sometimes even have the patients for stupid questions where their judgement is brought into question.

Thanks,

Ed Hawks

RE: LA California wind load

Way off-topic.

It's a pain I know, I had to call LA about wind speed on a project a week or two ago, an hour just to get code min. wind speed. lol But cities should have a wind study on record when they are in special wind regions.
