Ive been asked if we can write text and align it to an arc?
Any help would be much appreciated

Then you can use Insert - Curve – Text and set the Type to On Curve.

If you are looking to create a "note" on a curve then you will need a UG open program to do that.  There is a GRIP program available in the international GRIP library at the plm world website.  www.plmworld.com – membership is free and you can download from
http://grip.plmworldgroups.org/main_index_ns.html

The program is called o_text

Note an arc is by definition planar so the text will line in the plane of the arc. If you want to wrap planar text around a cylinder or cone then try Insert>Curve from Curves>Wrap/Unwrap.
