Hi guys,

i've got a formula to check the thickness of pressure vessel according to seismic condition. But i could not get any reference where this formula come from....the unit is in SI.

please help me to understand the formula below and where i can get more information about it. thank you

Sil = 0.605 * E * t/D * (( 2880 + D/t) / (3200 + (10*D/t)))

Use AS 1170 to calculate the seismic loading for Australian condition;- there you'll have the explanation for all those coeff.
