Section View Gone Bad

Section View Gone Bad

Section View Gone Bad

(OP)
I have a drawing that I'm creating multiple partial sections in. Sections created with vertical lines work fine but sections created with a horizontal line only work in one direction. The "bad" sections, which are supposed to be partial sections, show up as full sections, brown and with no depth control. If I flip direction they behave as expected.
I've tried starting a new drawing, starting off as a full section then changing to a partial section, moving views to different sheets, adjusting sketch locations and crying. All to no avail.
Any thoughts?

RE: Section View Gone Bad

Could be a geometry problem.

Is this only happening for one specific section?  Check to see how you've modeled the part.  Maybe there's a simpler way, etc.  Could be creating some kind of zero thickness geometry mumbo jumbo or something.

I've had sections act really wierd before, and remaking drawings/views wouldn't fix.  Usually I just dealt with it and moved on, and chalked it up as a "limitation".  Although those limitations only bug the living you know what out of me.

Unfortunately, it's not a singular part. It's a portion of a large assembly. The first 15 sections I've created work just fine, these last two are giving me a migraine.

Fixed!
After closing SolidWorks for the millionth time today, to capture an Rx of the problem, the issue resolved itself, or at least disappeared.
