Acoustic PVC waste water drains

Acoustic PVC waste water drains

Hello all,

This is a pretty simple question: is there a cost-effective solution for acoustic PVC waste water drains? What I need is 4inch PVC pipes for the risers of a 3-story appartment complex which dampen noise so as to reduce the transmission of sound caused by flushing a toilet, draining a bath, etc.

Thanks for your time!

RE: Acoustic PVC waste water drains

One might argue a cost-effective solution (at least for long-term service) may be cast iron or ductile iron pipe.

OK, yeah, sorry. I forgot to specify that we want an alternative to cast iron.

Thanks!

Insulate the pipe.

But by the time you include the price of the insulation, you might as well use cast iron.
