Strength & Toughness Testing of Inconel Cladded Carbon Steel
Strength & Toughness Testing of Inconel Cladded Carbon Steel
(OP)
Hi all,
Could you please provide for me test methods for testing inconel cladded Carbon steel. I see that UT is used for delamination testing, and also bend test of test specimens are used for delamination testing.
Another issue is the Cladding technique. What is preferable?

RE: Strength & Toughness Testing of Inconel Cladded Carbon Steel
Shear testing is another common requirement. You might want to reference the applicable material specification for more info. (SA265) You might want to check out Dynamic Materials website for some info in the explosion bonding process.
RE: Strength & Toughness Testing of Inconel Cladded Carbon Steel
we also use explosion bonded clad
Dynamic Materials as well
NEVER a problem

There is a good reason that DMC dominates the world wide explosive clad market. They know their stuff.

As an followup I wonder if explosion cladding is possible on complex designs, or is it used only on plates and such?
