Changing a part color via API???

Changing a part color via API???

Changing a part color via API???

(OP)
Hi, I am trying to change the color of a part but I couldnt find it anywhere, I couldnt even select the hole part via API when openning a part file. I can select the bodies and the features but not the hole part. I want to change its color so when I add a cut hole the cut will not have a diferent color.
Can anyone tell me at least the command.. or if it is not possible at all.

thanks

Emerson

RE: Changing a part color via API???

Have you investigated the myriad macros available for download that are related to color?

You may have to remove color from all bodies and faces first, because even if the whole part is set to red (for example), if there are bodies, faces, or features that are set to some other color that will override the part color for that boxy/feature/face.

I searched the solidworks macro avaiable for download.. none of them changes the color of a part, only the face/body color.

it worked.. :D

RE: Changing a part color via API???

I have use ModelProperties from Leonard Kikstra for years and haven't found another one worth changing to.  It gives you a drop-down of several pallette colors to use and also has an option to remove feature colors:
