dc motor run at very low speed
dc motor run at very low speed
(OP)
I am looking at how to run a ball screw at very low speed,(1 inch in 12 minutes), to push a 1000 lb load.. I would prefer to use a servo motor, but because of cost i am being asked to look into using a DC Motor. Does anyone out there have thoughts oin this and reasons to go one way or another.
Thanks
Mike

90 VDC Motors run off of full wave rectified 120 VAC and the speed can be controlled using phase controlled SCRs.
