Passing of Frank Magoon

Passing of Frank Magoon

Passing of Frank Magoon

(OP)
To all in the new england USA area, it is with heavy heart that I report the passing of Frank Magoon. He was a visionary, a great microwave engineer, a sportsman, Instrument and float plane rated pilot, outdoorsman extraordinaire, a pro level RC airplane enthusiast, and world class marksman. He had been known to down a bottle of fine bourbon here and there too. They don't make them like that anymore! He will be greatly missed.

Many a missile flew and radar ranged because of his talents. Frank applied his trade at Frequency Sources, Wincom, Stanford Telecom, Raytheon SMDO, and most recently at Raytheon Missile Systems in Massachusetts.

RE: Passing of Frank Magoon

Biff,
Thank you for posting this great tribute to my brother.  He passed doing what he loved while modifying his Harley.  Frank never missed the opportunity to take something apart, figure out how it worked, and make it better.

He will be missed by many.

That is what I would have expected.  Always some new project.  I had lunch with him a month ago, and the topics covered hunting, shooting, hiking, a recent outing he had, how to develop an autonomous submersible for bomb detection on cruise ships, how to develop a commercial line of battery assisted pedal bicycles, and if a line of battery powered motorcycles would be technically feasible.  All that while downing a few brews!
