Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

(OP)
Hi,

The cosmetic threads in my drawing do not update when I make changes to the hole (which is a threaded hole inserted using the hole wizard) in the solid model. Anyone ever had this problem? and how did you resolve it?

RE: Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

Do you mean the texture scale or the dashed circle size and information does not change? The size and circle has to be manually updated.

cheers

I mean the dashed circles and also the dashed lines in the section view that show the depth of the threads

RE: Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

Doh ... sorry, please ignore my post. I was thinking of the cosmetic thread circle as applied to threaded shafts.

The HW dashed circle should update automatically. Do the circles update when a Ctrl+Q is used?

cheers

No it was really weird. They updated when i opened the solid model again and rebuilt the holes.

RE: Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

Could the model have been loaded lightweight in the drawing?

RE: Displaying and updating cosmetic threads

I see this every once in a while on both models and drawings.  Sometimes control-Q fixes it, sometimes I have to save-close-open to get them to appear right.  As you said, when it does happen, it's after editting a hole-wizard feature.  I've never been able to reproduce the problem on a regular basis.
