Restoring NX2 files after a crash

Restoring NX2 files after a crash

Restoring NX2 files after a crash

(OP)
We run NX2 on PCs without Teamcentre.

I have had a few crashes lately and am fed up with losing my work.  UG appears to save files named xxxx.rol.bin in my Temp directory - is there a way to restore the model from these files?

RE: Restoring NX2 files after a crash

NO!  Those files hold the information used by the 'Undo' mechanism.

The best way to make sure that you don't lose your work is to 'file early and file often'.  That advice was good 31 years ago when I first started to use Unigraphics (AKA, NX) and it's still good advice today.

RE: Restoring NX2 files after a crash

Dave,

I nearly mentioned the same thing but the thought of explaining how it works horrified me. Truth be told I've never had any success using that method on the occasions when I've tried, generally because even small things change and make it fall over.

Cheers

Hudson
