Does anyone have the material properties for Zintec?

RE: Zintec Material Properties

Zintec is a trade name for an electro-zinc coated steel.

Are you needing the properties of the zinc coating, or the overall coated product?

Which properties are you actually needing/wanting?

cheers

RE: Zintec Material Properties

I had the same question as CBL.

The overall coated product.  I can't find any specific information online about it.  I'm making several sheetmetal parts out of it and need to be as accurate I can with respect to weight, etc. in SolidWorks.

RE: Zintec Material Properties

If it is coated, then you'll need both the properties of the base material, and the properties of the coating material, and apply each appropriately.  I doubt it is possible to find a combined set of specs, as many variables would make such an analysis extremely specific to a very specific set of conditions.  A change in thickness, for example, would radically change any values.

RE: Zintec Material Properties

Does it have to be Zintec, or can it be a similar electro-zinc coated steel? Either way, you may need to contact the suppliers/manufacturer to obtain the properties you need.

If you (or your client or company) have some of the material, have them weigh/test an actual sample. Many of the weights given in material specs are estimated. Each batch of the material produced will vary slightly in weight due to thickness variations.

cheers

If you get the material spec info, please send to me to add to the Material Database.

I'm going to try to track this information down from our supplier.  I'll let you know what I find.
