SPM SBM

SPM SBM

(OP)
Hi all,
Does  SBM (Single Buoy Mooring) and SPM (Single Point Mooring) mean the same? I see both terms being used  all the time. Coincidently, SBM is also the name of the company (SBM Offshore N.V.) which is the pioneer in SPM systems.

Thanks in advanced.

RE: SPM SBM

Single and Mooring are the same, however Buoy might not be the only type of single point, such as a tower structure.
