Hi,

I´m building a model where I have a force on a cylindrical shell described by a theta and time dependent function. I made a drawing to describe the problem, se attached file. I´m using the analytical fields function to create the theta dependence in the force but time can't be used as a variable. My thought was to create a rotating coordinate system to create the time dependence. I´ve been looking through the help but it doesn't seem possible to create a rotating or moving coordinate system. Can it be done?

If not, does anyone have an idea how to create this force moving over the cylindrical shell? Another idea I have it to make a thin, very weak part and apply the force to it and then rotate it around the surface. The problem with this solution is that the part affects the deformation and it is heavy on computer resources.

I do not think that the way you have described your problem, it is amenable to solution by FEA method. In order to solve the problem, you could split your loading cycle in to a number of points. Then you would have to run a seperate analysis for each load point. The results can then be combined in postprocessing. This sort of thing is done in crankshaft analysis.

Above I have assumed that you are talking about a static analysis.
