TCP/IP routing 1 ip address

TCP/IP routing 1 ip address

(OP)
I know that if you are given a DSL that has 1 ip addres available that you put a router on it and all the computers can reach the internet.
The problem is i have a allen brabley PLC, computer and a analyzer all on ethernet. My DSL has only 1 ip address.
How can i talk to each device from the internet side?
I have different software to talk to each device through ethernet. Can some king of port forwarding be used?
Do i have to get assigned more than 1 ethernet ip addres from my ip server.
Easy from device to ethernet but confused from ethernet to devices.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Merlin Knight

RE: TCP/IP routing 1 ip address

Your "known" information is incorrect.  Most routers perform a network address translation (NAT) to fool correspondents into thinking that all the computers on an internal network have the same external IP address.

And, as the previous poster suggests, your question is more amenable to the resources at www.Tek-Tips.com
