Properties for CS Plate - AS1548-1-430

Properties for CS Plate - AS1548-1-430

Properties for CS Plate - AS1548-1-430

(OP)
G'Day,

Would anyone know the material properties for old Carbon Steel Plate (AS1548-1-430).

In particular I am after the tensile strength, Yield Strength and design allowable stress (MPa).

The plate was used in a heat exchanger designed to AS1210-1977 (Pressure Vessels).

Could anyone tell me which edition of AS1548 this would be applicable to?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Damian

Thwe 430 is the minimum tensile strength in MPa.

Don't know about the 1977 side of things, but my superseded 1989 copy AS1210 shows AS1548 7-430 has an allowable stress of 108MPa up until 325degC for all grades.

Thanks for the response guys,

I have since found out that the 430 is indeed the tensile strength, and AS1210 used a factor of 4 for the allowable (108 MPa).

Only unknown is the yield strength, I am hoping it shouldn't be too different to AS1548-7-430 from that era also.

Cheers
