difference between mobile home furnace and furnace?

difference between mobile home furnace and furnace?

(OP)
I've been looking at used oil fired hot air furnaces for my home. I keep running into mobile home or trailer furnaces. What's the difference?? Can I put a mobile home furnace into my single family slab foundation house? Is one better than the other?

RE: difference between mobile home furnace and furnace?

Many trailer furnaces are the "through the wall" type.  They may or may not be ok for home use.  You need to be careful of the exhaust.

How big is your house?  A furnace sized for a trailer may not have the air flow or pressure for the more complicated duct system of a house.

There may also be restrictions on total length of exhaust pipe.
