Is this a Mistake?: Stress Relief

Is this a Mistake?: Stress Relief

Is this a Mistake?: Stress Relief

(OP)
Reference: ASME Part II A
SA 193: Clause 6.1.1
Item: Quench and Tempered Fastener, for the purpose of dimensional control has been stress Relieved.

Item has been quenched and has been Tempered. Tempering temperature is 655 Deg C

Question 1)
What shoul be the Stress Relief Temperature

Question 2) ASME Sec II A SA 193 Clause 6.1.1 states thus
Quote
Quenched and Tempered ferritic Material that is subsequently cold drawn for dimensional control shall be stress relieved after cold drawing. The MINIMUM STRESS RELIEF temperature SHALL be 55 Deg C BELOW the tempering temperature.
Unquote

Does the above statement have error?

Question 3) should it not be "Maximum Stress Relief shall be 55 Deg below the tempering temperature" meaning that the item should be stress releved below 600 Deg C

or
Question 4) Should it not be "Minimum Stress relief temperature shall be higher than 55 Deg Below the tempering temperature" meaning the Stress releif temperature shall be higher than 600 Deg C.

Question 5) If the clause 6.1.1 is correct statement, what does it mean?

Question 5) If the clause 6.1.1 is correct statement, what does it mean?

It means if stress relief treatment is performed, the stress relief temperature shall be 55 deg C below the original temperating temperature (655 deg C). The reason for this is to avoid altering the bulk mechanical property and hardness requirement of ASME B 193.

What is the significance of the Word MINIMUM, that prefixes the stress relief temperaure?

Suppose one performs the Stress Relief in steps that is heat the item to 550 Deg C an hold it for 15 min and then temperature is increased to 610 Deg C and hold it for 15 min and then bring it down.

In the aove cycle what is the Minimum Stress relief temperature?

RE: Is this a Mistake?: Stress Relief

As long as the temperature for stress relief safely remains below the original tempering temperture, there is no issue.
